ARE 5.0 Tips

Managing Your ARE Appointments

Scheduling Your Exam

Once you've established your exam eligibility and prepared for a division of the ARE, it's time to schedule your exam. You can do this through your NCARB Record. When scheduling, you'll be able to select the date, time, and location that suits you best. It's recommended to schedule your exam well in advance to secure your preferred slot and to give yourself ample time to prepare.

Rescheduling Your Exam

Life can be unpredictable, and you may find yourself needing to reschedule your exam. If you need to reschedule, you can do so through your NCARB Record. However, keep in mind that a rescheduling fee may apply depending on how far in advance you reschedule. If you reschedule more than 30 days before your appointment, there's no fee. If you reschedule between 15-30 days before your appointment, a small fee applies. If you reschedule less than 15 days before your appointment, the fee is higher.

Canceling Your Exam

If you need to cancel your exam, you can do so through your NCARB Record. However, it's important to note that if you cancel your exam less than 15 days before your appointment, you will not receive a refund of your exam fee. If you cancel your exam more than 15 days before your appointment, you will receive a refund, minus a small cancellation fee.

Exam Day and Beyond

On the day of your exam, make sure to arrive at the test center or log in to your online-proctored exam early. After your exam, you'll receive a provisional score at the test center, and your official score will be reported to your NCARB Record within a week.
